The MU Performance Management Task Force recommended in November 2000, and Chancellor Wallace has approved, that a consistent performance management process be utilized across campus. While 80% of MU departments conduct employee appraisals, performance management is much more than an employee appraisal.

Human Resource Services has designed one 6-hour or two 3-hour sessions that enables supervisors to:

  • develop job tasks and competencies

  • develop performance standards

  • conduct an evaluation

  • incorporate training and follow-up for the employee's continued development

  • realize the importance of making performance management an ongoing process
  •  



    Effective performance management can improve communication among supervisors and their employees, and ensure a more efficient, assured and well-trained staff.
