| Step 1. |
Complete the Administrative Information section and Job
Description section, by listing the top 5 to 7 duties in order of their
importance and indicate average percent of time devoted to each duty over
the course of a year. |
| Step 2. |
Determine the job family of the current incumbent title based on a
review of the specific duties of the position. |
| Step 3. |
Determine the appropriate title within that job family, based on
the titles available, the classification specifications, and a brief
checklist that will assist departments in determining the appropriate
title. (If several new titles appear to be an appropriate match consult
with Human Resources Personnel.) |
| Step 4. |
Determine the level within that title, using the competency matrix,
which will ultimately determine the level of pay for that position. |
